She earned her BFA from Pratt Institute, and has been included in exhibitions throughout the East Coast and Midwestern United States. Frances’ work has been featured in Huffington Post, Paper Magazine, Vices Creator’s Project, FUKT Magazine, among others, mainly of web publications often highlighting her prolific presence on social media. Instagram is the tool she uses to release drawings that explore the limitations of public and private intimate space.
Johannah Herr
Johannah Herr (b. 1990) is based in Brooklyn, NY. Fulbright Research Scholar, and founder of Daughter’s Rising (an anti-human trafficking women’s empowerment initiative). She’s held residencies at Oxbow, Museum of Art & Design, & SIM Rekjavik. Graduating with an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BFa from Parsons she has had shows throughout New York City, Detroit, Cleveland, Thailand, Mongolia, and Estonia. She has been highlighted on Vice’s Creator’s project.
Brendan Loper
Brendan Loper is a painter and cartoonist. His works on paper satirize power structures whether it be in DC or the Art World. The criticisms are far ranging but mostly center on the inabilities and ignorance of the ruling class. Counterbalancing these heavy themes are drawings which focus more on big laughs. His work has appeared in the New Yorker, Washington Post, New York Times, and the Guardian. He has a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from American University.
Lauren Gregory
Brooklyn-based and Tennessee-raised, Lauren Gregory is a painter, animator, and music video director. A third-generation southern female painter, she began by following in her mother’s and grandmother’s footsteps, often painting friends and family in quick one-sitting sessions. Since earning her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2009, Lauren’s work has developed into oil paint stop-motion animations - moving paintings in which thick impasto strokes appear to move before the viewer’s eyes - and music videos for international acts. Her work has shown at MoMA P.S.1, the New Museum, MOCA Los Angeles, and is currently being represented by the Elijah Wheat Showroom.
Emily Hoerdemann
Originally from the Midwest, Emily Hoerdemann is a Los Angeles-based artist working in photography and collage. Emily’s text painting collages borrow imagery from fine art auction catalogs and fashion magazines, paired with colloquial sayings and quotes. In contrast, the text photographs pair text with Emily’s own images of her travels. The selected words either communicating or critiquing the landscape and/or viewer. Both text series approaches the viewer with a playful attitude, but oftentimes we find ourselves revealed in the language used. A physical reminder of our own perspectives and understanding. Emily received a BFA in painting and a BFA in photography in 2008 from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois. In 2012, she received an MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby's Institute of Art, New York.
