EWS curated, installed and managed all of the logistics for a ‘new fair’ with Creative Debuts. It was located in an old factory in Peckham, London, and opened October 4-7, 2018.
We emphasized accessibility, interaction, performance, installations, Nasty and political work. Many of the Showroom's crew of artists participated and we worked our asses off to buck the system. We sold limited edition political pins, patches and our hand screened “Manifistation T-shirts” and gave 20% of our proceeds to RAINN. Dr. Blasey-Ford’s testimony was playing throughout London whilst us Nasty Women (yes, totes all ladies with drills, levels and then some holding up walls) scrambled to present a most professional exhibition in non-traditional fair venue.
We’re back in NYC and sharing with you some installation shots of the madness. We humbly thank Sonja Roach, Anna Dinardi, Peppre Ann & Lauren Gregory for assisting with the 24 hour install after our crate cleared customs. It was our first International fair, it was a whirlwind, it was a risk and it was a most memorable time of promoting great art—just for the sake of fucking art. We’re proud of what we accomplished, yet were imitably thankful for the support from our friends.
